Well it's always been my dream to go to the Olympics and here I am on the other side of the pond in London 2012! Ok, so I've overstayed my stopover just a wee bit but I'm going to soak it all in. Follow me on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram if you want to lurk with me on my adventures!
This week we move on with the much anticipated progression for the Handstand Push Up on Rings:
Coach Carl takes you behind the scenes on a visit to his friends at WellnessFX to get some insights into his biometrics and recommendations to improve his health. With the help of Jim Kean, co-founder and CEO of WellnessFX, Carl takes a close look at the state of his health by reviewing his biomarkers from his last blood draw using the WellnessFX interface.
In addition to physical training, an important part of athletic performance and fitness is attributed to the physiological state and response of your body. An important habit to start or maintain is to do these diagnostics checks regularly, because if you can't measure it, you can't improve it.
Hey gang, not much to say because we're glued to the TV and live-streams of the Olympic events! Go enjoy the gymnastics finals events and cheer on your favorite athletes and teams.
This week we continue with our progression to get inverted on the rings:

We are about to geek out for health and science, stay tuned!
Well the 2012 Games season is officially over, and as some of us head into the off-season this is a great time to get refreshed and find time to focus on a few other things.
One important habit to start or maintain is to do little diagnostics checks regularly, because if you can't measure it, you can't improve it. In addition to physical training, an important part of athletic performance and fitness is attributed to the physiological state and response of your body. In the upcoming weeks, I'm going to show you behind the scenes of how I get a peek under the hood into my biometrics with help from my friends at from WellnessFX. We are about to geek out!
Another thing to keep in mind is invest in the time to practice and learn new skills. Do something awkward, get uncomfortable, and make your body adapt. You will be amazed at how quickly you're able to pick up new skills and how quickly you will be come efficient the more you practice skill.
On that note, here's a skill that we've had a ton of requests for - get this one under your belt for the 2013 Games!
Hello crew, we're back after an epic week at the 2012 Reebok CrossFit Games! It's incredible to see how much the athletes have improved in their performance over the last year, and how much the Games has grown with the size and support of the community. Special thanks to the 2011/2012 champion Annie Thorisdottir and Coach Jami Tikkanen for the opportunity to allow me to be part of their amazing team. Congrats again to the athletes, judges, volunteers, sponsors, vendors, fans, and everyone who had a part in making this event possible. To everyone who came by and said Hi, it was great to meet you and thnks again for all your love and support!
While we recover and plan our training for the 2013 season, let's go back and take a look at a basic training drill and look at it as an opportunity for skill transfer:
We've been hanging out all weekend at the 2012 USA Gymnastics Olympic Trials and the athletes are just incredible to watch. Cannot wait until the Olympics and we hope you all get a chance to catch it! We will do our best to help you follow the action, keep training and study up!
This week we continue with more Press to Handstand work - a movement we've seen a lot this weekend at the Trials:
And the winner for a pair of new custom Nano 2.0 is... Hannah Pierce-Carlson! Hannah submitted an amazing photo of her barefoot Burpee while braving some typhoon weather. I want to thank all our fans and supporters for sending in their photos and love, and we'll try to contact each of you who made a submission soon to see if we can hook you up with some other goodies.
This week's progression has been requested many times, and if you practiced the planche work over the past few weeks you should be strong and ready for this:
