I tried a bunch of the different progressions.  One of the coaches told me that I was probably too "spread out" with my lunge, and suggested I move closer.  I tried kicking up the same way I would against a wall, and managed to flip myself over (I'm glad I had that happen).  After more than 10 minutes and a few other near-catastrophes, I thought I'd give it a rest.
